Despite the Trump administration’s attacks on renewable energy, wind and solar are still growing quickly across the U.S.
Solar, wind, and battery storage made up more than 90% of all new electricity capacity added in 2025. One big reason is that renewables are getting cheaper and faster to build.
And this growth is happening across political lines. Texas now leads the country in renewable energy growth and produces more power from solar farms than coal plants.
