As wildfires force people from their homes across B.C., volunteers at a Sikh temple in Penticton are serving up to 2,000 free meals a day to people affected by the fires.

As the Bald Range wildfire spread near Summerland, B.C., a small group of volunteers spent over 24 hours helping animals get to safety. Together, they rescued 52 horses, 25 goats, six sheep, several dogs, and cats from local farms.
Even as thousands of people were being forced to leave their own homes, neighbours were stepping up to make sure the animals were safe too.
